The topic will share information about the climate adaptation in general. About its goal to reduce our risks from the harmful effects of climate change. We also introduce the potential beneficial opportunities associated with climate change (for example, longer growing seasons or increased yields in some regions).
As defined by IPCC, climate change adaptation is “The process of adjustment to actual or expected climate and its effects. In human systems, adaptation seeks to moderate or avoid harm or exploit beneficial opportunities. In some natural systems, human intervention may facilitate adjustment to expected climate and its effects.” While doing everything we can for mitigation and to slow down the pace of global warming, we have to accept the truth: there are consequences of the global climate change which are irreversible. We must adapt to them to protect ourselves and our communities.
